Project GIVA: Extending the Learning Journey to the Finance Team

Performance

Strengthening workplace capabilities through adaptability, impactful communication and cross-functional collaboration.

At Change Institutes International (CII), we believe that professional excellence extends beyond technical expertise. It is equally shaped by how people adapt to change, communicate with clarity, collaborate across functions and translate their capabilities into meaningful workplace impact.

As part of our ongoing engagement with GIVA, we are extending the learning journey to the Finance Team—building on the belief that capability development is most effective when it is aligned with the realities of people’s roles and the evolving needs of the organisation.

Building Capabilities Beyond Functional Expertise

Finance professionals play an important role in organisational effectiveness. Alongside technical knowledge, their ability to respond to changing priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders and work across teams can influence the quality of decisions and the smooth flow of business operations.

The Finance Team’s learning roadmap focuses on four relevant areas:

  • Adaptability: Responding constructively to changing priorities, expectations and workplace situations.
  • Impactful Communication and Cross-Functional Influence: Communicating with clarity, strengthening stakeholder relationships and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Acknowledgement at Work: Recognising contributions, encouraging professional respect and strengthening everyday workplace interactions.
  • Effective Use of Technology: Exploring how technology can support greater efficiency, responsiveness and effectiveness at work.

The intent is to connect learning with practical workplace situations, enabling participants to reflect on their current approaches and identify opportunities to apply new behaviours in their day-to-day roles.

Learning That Connects to the Workplace

At CII, our approach to capability development emphasises relevance, participation and application. We believe that learning becomes valuable when professionals can connect concepts to their own work, practise new approaches and recognise where small behavioural shifts can improve professional interactions.

This philosophy guides our work across communication, interpersonal effectiveness, leadership and professional development.

Through this engagement, we look forward to supporting the Finance Team in exploring practical ways to strengthen individual effectiveness and collaboration across the organisation.

Acknowledging the People Behind the Progress

Every successful training engagement requires more than content and facilitation. It calls for ownership, preparation, coordination and a clear understanding of the learning needs of the people being served.

We would like to acknowledge Raksha Garg, who is heading this training vertical for the GIVA Finance Team engagement. Her ownership and contribution to this phase of the project are an important part of translating the learning roadmap into a structured and meaningful experience for participants.

At CII, we value the people who take responsibility for turning our commitments into action. Their work strengthens not only individual projects, but also the quality and consistency of the learning experiences we deliver to our clients.

Continuing the Learning Journey

We are pleased to extend our engagement with GIVA through this Finance Team initiative. For us, every programme is an opportunity to connect professional development with workplace realities and to reinforce the importance of continuous learning.

As we move forward, our focus remains on creating learning experiences that are purposeful, practical and relevant—helping individuals strengthen the way they work with themselves, with others and across their organisation.
